Bill Nance was a popular personality.

Bill Nance grew up hunting and fishing in the Texas Gulf Cost. Bill worked for years as a career frustrated engineer in East Tennessee. Bill became a game warden for the State of Tennessee and served for as an officer in Greene County for thirty years.

Bill was quite the story teller and became a big UT Vols fan and was a staple at Neyland Statdium where to the University of the Tennessee plays football in the Southeastern conference.

During his time, Bill’s fans heard many different and interesting situations. “Tales of a Greene Possum Cop” is a collection of these tales as they actually occurred. Most are humorous, a few are serious, and a couple are deadly serious.

Bill also discusses his relationship with the other law enforcement officers and the sportsmen in Greene County. After retirement, Bill; his wife, Bonnie; and his blackmouth cur dog, Cowboy; live on his Hangin’ N Ranch near Greeneville, Tennessee. He was actively involved as a deacon and choir leaded at Pine Springs Baptist Church.
